Rock Oyster Festival: A Local's Guide

One of the best things about staying at TREALLEN ROCK is how close we are to Rock Oyster — held every July at Dinham House, just minutes from the house, it's grown into one of the UK's best food-and-music festivals, and it's genuinely worth planning a stay around.

What Is Rock Oyster?

Set on the banks of the Camel Estuary at Dinham House, Rock Oyster is a four-day celebration of food and music — Cornish seafood and oysters at its heart, alongside chef demonstrations, foraging walks and cooking workshops, all set against a genuinely stunning stretch of coastline. It's family-friendly by design, with children's tents, a funfair and craft activities running throughout.

The Calibre of the Line-Up

The 2026 festival gives a good sense of what to expect: Groove Armada, Scissor Sisters and Kool & The Gang headlined the music, while the food programme featured chefs including Marco Pierre White, Nathan Outlaw and Jack Stein. It's a genuinely big event for a village the size of Rock — around 10,000 people attend each day.

Planning Ahead

The festival runs every July, and tickets are typically released in tiers from around November the year before — the earlier tiers sell out well ahead of the event, so it's worth booking as soon as dates are confirmed if you know you want to go. The same goes for accommodation: Rock fills up fast for festival weekend, so we'd suggest booking your stay early too.

Getting There from TREALLEN ROCK

Dinham House is just outside Rock, easily reached via the B3314. Given its rural setting, we'd recommend driving or taking the festival shuttle bus rather than walking. Book your stay direct and make TREALLEN ROCK your base for the weekend.
