Best Coffee Shops and Bakeries near Rock, Trebetherick and Polzeath
Updated: 1 day ago

A good holiday morning starts with a decent coffee and something warm from the oven. Here are the places we use in Rock, Trebetherick and Polzeath, from a village deli with fresh bread to a surf-shop café with a view of the sand. We have kept it to the ones we would recommend to a guest staying at TREALLEN ROCK. If you're planning a stay, check availability and book direct.
Trebetherick and Polzeath
Flo's Kitchen, Trebetherick
A village deli, general store and bakery, in the old Trebetherick Stores. Come for fresh coffee and croissants, cakes and a small takeaway menu of pasties and filled baguettes, and pick up milk, cheese and essentials for the house at the same time. A handy first stop on the way to Daymer Bay.
Hours: Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm, Sunday 8am to 4pm (Flo's Kitchen; please check before you go).
Good to know: good for self-catering supplies as well as a coffee.
Flo's Kitchen, Polzeath
The same team's deli and café in the middle of Polzeath, known for takeaway toasties, subs, salad bowls and fresh bread. Handy for a quick lunch before or after a surf lesson or beach day.
Good to know: Grab a coffee and pastry and head over the road to the beach.
TJ's Café, Polzeath
A surf-shop café at the edge of the beach, with big breakfasts and a balcony looking out over the sand. A good place to watch the surf come in with a coffee.
The Cracking Crab, Polzeath
A relaxed café-restaurant above the beach, known for seafood and a traditional cream tea. A good reward after the coast path walk from Rock: see our Rock to Polzeath walk guide.
Good to know: Some of the best views available.
The Mowhay, Trebetherick
An arts café a short way from Polzeath, serving British classics and Sunday roasts, with a wood burner for colder days. Better for a long, relaxed stop than a quick coffee.
Rock
Three places in Rock itself cover coffee, bread and pastries.
Fee's Deli
A food shop and deli in Rock, selling freshly baked pastries and croissants, sourdough, deli items, homemade ready meals and takeaway food. It is also a good stop for picnic and barbecue supplies before a beach day.
Hours: 8:30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, 9am to 3pm on Sundays. Check timing.
Good to know: A short walk from TREALLEN ROCK.
Malcolm Barnecutt's Bakery
A Cornish bakery with a shop in Rock, known for pasties, bread including sourdough, doughnuts, saffron buns, cakes and pastries. A good pick for a pasty lunch, sandwiches, salads or a bag of buns for the beach.
Good to know: An easy walk from TREALLEN ROCK.
Camel Ski School, Rock
Based on the Rock waterfront since 1977, Camel Ski School is best known for waterskiing, wakeboarding and paddleboarding on the Camel Estuary.
Good to know: Coffee and pastries with a view across the estuary to Padstow.
